There has been a huge amount of bad news spin and general gloom over the past 10 months or so regarding the recession. It is time to cheer up and breathe a sigh of relief, because the worst has not actually happened. In all probability, it is already behind us.
Looking back to September 2008, the XL Leisure Group went under and more recently All America has ceased trading, the global economy rapidly fell into the grips of mass panic attack. Reports everywhere were adding to the frenzy by constantly talking about a depression worse than the 1930’s. Most market participants were left trembling into their spreadsheets of doom !
Looking at 2009, sadly a few companies have gone to the wall but this could be due to a number of factors not just the tough market conditions. In reality business’s are generally doing well and successfully weathering the storm. As the UK population increasingly enjoys more free time and higher disposable incomes, travel is perfectly placed as a growth sector.
So lets not look back at the gloom and doom of 2008 and earlier this year, lets look forward to the future. The economic crisis is dead and buried, there are some truly amazing countries out there to visit and we at Oundle Travel are ready to go that extra step to make sure you enjoy the holiday experience from start to finish.
